area TE1 of Seltzer
Acronym: TE1
The term area TE1 of Seltzer refers to the most rostral and ventral of five subdivisions of area TE of Seltzer in the macaque. Defined on the basis of cytomyeloarchitecture, it is located in the temporal lobe just caudal to area Pro of Seltzer, which occupies the temporal pole. It is similar to area Pro in many respects but differs in that it has an internal granular layer (IV) that is distinct from the internal pyramidal layer (V) ( Seltzer-1978 ).
