coccygeal segments

The term coccygeal segments refers to the most caudal portion of the spinal cord, which gives rise to one, and in some individuals two, spinal nerves ( Schiebler-1999 ). Defined by dissection, they are found in all vertebrates ( Swanson-2015 ).
