intraparietal region (IPR)

The term intraparietal region (IPR) refers to a structural and functional unit in the parietal lobe (PLB) of the human ( Carpenter-1983 ) and the macaque ( Bowden-2012 ). In the human It is composed of five areas of cerebral cortex located in the walls of the intraparietal sulcus (ips).The medial intraparietal area (MIP), lateral intraparietal area (LIP), and anterior parietal area (AIP) are located caudorostrally in the lateral wall of the intraparietal sulcus (ips). The medial intraparietal area (MIP) and ventral intraparietal complex (VIP) are located caudorostrally in the medial was of ips ( Durand )
