postcentral region

The term postcentral region refers to a cytoarchitecturally defined portion of the cerebral cortex that lies immediately caudal to the central sulcus. It occupies primarily the postcentral gyrus and a small portion of the precentral gyrus at its ventral extreme adjacent to the lateral fissure. It consists of the area 3 of Brodmann (human), the area 1 of Brodmann (human), the area 2 of Brodmann (human) and the area 43 of Brodmann (human) ( Brodmann-1909 )
